The Molong Solar Farm site is located approximately forty kilometers north-west of Orange in NSW. Nested in a region traditionally known for producing wool, wheat and wine, Molong will now add the production of clean energy to the list.
Molong Solar Farm is strategically located in an area of high solar irradiance and temperate conditions making it an ideal climate for solar generation.
Once completed, the solar farm will produce enough solar energy to serve the needs of approximately 8,500 average NSW homes and displace more than 55,000 cubic tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions each year – the equivalent of taking about 14,500 cars off the road.
The project has been acquired by Australian renewable energy company TEC-C Investments and is due to start construction in late 2019.
